Open Pit Mine

When a client comes to Ironfin requesting a video of an open-pit mine to show a community, our primary goal is to accurately portray the size of the proposed pit. Creating an accurate, 3D-to-scale representation of the mine is always of paramount importance. To do this, Ironfin uses every piece of information at our disposal – from topographical data to photographs of the surrounding area and 3D photogrammetry models – to generate a hyper-realistic depiction of each mine.

For more than a decade, Ironfin has been generating three-dimensional representations of open-pit mines (like the images on this page). Throughout that time, Ironfin has continued to improve our processes, tools, and skills to accommodate evolving technology and new client requests.
